"Vital Signs" FAQ
CORRECTIONS
Please note, on page 9 of
Medicine Hat’s Vital Signs there is a decimal placement error.
In the “Oil and Gas Prices”
paragraph it should read “During this period oil was at a high of
$133.33/barrel in June 2008 and dropped to a low of $39.16 in February
of 2009. Gas hit its high in July 2008 at
$1.30 and a low of
$ .739 in December 2008.”
We apologize for this error.
NOTE:
On page 11 of Medicine Hat’s
Vital Signs, the “Fact or Fiction” states that the percentage increase

were later informed by the Medicine Hat Police Service that while there
was an increase in shoplifting cases from 2007 – 2008, the high
percentage noted in the statistics is due to a change in reporting to
Statistics Canada. The actual number of shoplifting cases under $5000
was 157 in 2007 and 193 in 2008.
The Community Foundation was
proud to be a collaborative partner
with a number of community
organizations in presenting
